Touriga Nacional 2019
A young-vine Touriga Nacional (sold in the US as 'Jovem') from Quinta da Plansel's newer estate plantings on granite and schist in the Alentejo. It is fermented in stainless steel with open maceration and daily pump-overs for a fresh, fruit-driven style. Expect dark fruit, red currant and orange-blossom and violet florals, with soft tannins.

About the producer
Dorina Lindemann (Quinta da Plansel)
Dorina Lindemann founded Quinta da Plansel near Montemor-o-Novo in Portugal's Alentejo in 1997. She is the daughter of German vine researcher Hans Jörg Böhm, who catalogued hundreds of Portuguese grape varieties and opened the country's first vine nursery. Her wines focus on northern Portuguese grapes, chiefly Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca, grown on granite and schist soils without herbicides.
