Fincas Don Martino
Martino Viña Violeta Old Vine Cabernet Franc 2023
Cabernet Franc from rocky alluvial soils at about 3,215 ft: roughly three-quarters from Perdriel in Luján de Cuyo and the rest from Barrancas in Maipú. Each site ferments separately with native yeasts, malolactic happens spontaneously, and a short time in barrel adds volume. Black fruit, spice and red pepper, with chocolate and vanilla on a smooth, long palate.

About the producer
Fincas Don Martino
Fincas Don Martino was started in 2002 by Buenos Aires media businessman Hugo Martino, drawn by the fruit of Viña Violeta, a small old-vine estate in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, planted in 1926 with ungrafted Malbec at about 3,850 feet. The family has since built a winery in Drummond, Luján de Cuyo, and works with Italian consultant Attilio Pagli, also sourcing from other old-vine parcels in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.
