La Yunta

La Yunta Torrontés 2024

Torrontés from a 45-year-old vineyard in La Rioja's Famatina Valley, which the producer prefers to Salta for its drier, more focused style. Lots picked at different ripeness levels are fermented separately with native yeasts, and about 5% of the wine sees French oak for extra breadth. Green melon, white peach and citrus lead to a crisp finish; good as an aperitif or with seafood and poultry.

About the producer

La Yunta

La Yunta ("the pair pulling together") is a Torrontés project created in 2001 by Kirk (Christopher) Ermisch, founder of Elixir Wine Group and owner of Bodega Calle. Rather than Salta, it sources Torrontés Riojano from the Famatina Valley in La Rioja province, whose more moderate climate the team credits with a drier, more focused style.
