Lionel Gosseaume
Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2024
A Touraine Sauvignon Blanc from vines on the plateau between the Loire and the Cher, mostly around Choussy, on limestone and sand. The grapes are picked very ripe, carried in small 10 kg crates, fermented plot by plot with native yeasts and aged four months on the lees. The importer's notes describe passion fruit, pineapple and apple with a mineral edge; it pairs well with fish, seafood and goat cheese.

About the producer
Lionel Gosseaume
Lionel Gosseaume resisted the family trade for years before taking over a small vineyard in 2007, at 37. His vines sit on the plateau between the Loire and the Cher, mostly around Choussy south of Blois, on sand, clay and limestone soils; he picks and ferments eight Sauvignon Blanc plots separately. Farming is sustainable (agriculture raisonnée); in the US the wines come through Bruno Lafon Selection.
