Menéres Tawny Port 40 Year Old bottle

Menéres

Tawny Port 40 Year Old

A 40-year-old tawny in half-bottles, drawn from the van Zeller family's reserves of very old Port and made from foot-trodden Douro grapes. Four decades in cask bring salted caramel, butterscotch, dried orange peel and toasted coconut, then raisin, molasses, fig and walnut on a silky, elegant palate with a long finish.

About the producer

Menéres

Menéres is a historic Port label from the Douro that the van Zeller family, one of the oldest families in the Port trade, revived under independent family ownership; the name honours an ancestor, Arnaldo Menéres. Winemaker Álvaro van Zeller oversees the range, which draws on the family's stocks of old tawny.
