Bodega Bouza
Bouza Tannat Reserva 2023
Bouza's benchmark Tannat, blended from three maritime-influenced estate sites: cool Melilla around the winery (rows topped with pink granite to radiate heat), warmer clay-rich Las Violetas, and coastal Pan de Azúcar. The vines are dry farmed, winemaking uses gravity, and the wine ages 13 months in French and American oak. Blackberry, mulberry and cassis over a smoky background, with velvety but firm tannins.

About the producer
Bodega Bouza
Juan and Elisa Bouza founded Bodega Bouza in 2000 by restoring a winery first built in 1942 on the outskirts of Montevideo, Uruguay. Grapes come from the family's own estate vineyards in Montevideo (Melilla, around the winery), Canelones (Las Violetas) and Maldonado (Pan de Azúcar), with each small parcel vinified separately. Best known for Tannat, Bouza was also among the first in Uruguay to plant Albariño.
