Domaine Emile Cheysson
Chiroubles 'Clos les Farges' 2021
Gamay from Chiroubles, the highest of the Beaujolais crus, grown on the family's 'Clos les Farges' estate around 400 meters up. It is made with whole-berry fermentation and tends toward a smooth, perfumed style, with spring-flower aromas and black cherry, raspberry and spice on the palate. Reviewers call it an easy-drinking introduction to cru Beaujolais that can also age for several years.

About the producer
Domaine Emile Cheysson
One of the oldest estates in Chiroubles: monks of Cluny Abbey cleared these slopes and built a priory on the site, and part of the cellars date from the 17th century. The Cheysson family has run it for more than 150 years and now farms about 26 hectares of Chiroubles and Beaujolais blanc at around 400 meters, on the highest hills of the Beaujolais crus.
