Pietranera
Rosso di Montalcino 2023
Pietranera's Rosso comes from the same single southeast-facing vineyard block as its Brunello, on volcanic, quartz-rich soil. It macerates about 20 days in steel at 25-28°C, then spends six months in large Slavonian oak and six in bottle. Bright ruby, with fresh cherry, marasca, rose and Mediterranean herbs, a juicy palate, fine tannins and a clean mineral finish.

About the producer
Pietranera
Pietranera is one of the Montalcino estates of the Peluso Centolani family (Società Agricola Centolani), alongside Tenuta Friggiali. Its vines form one contiguous block on the southeast side of the Montalcino hill near Sant'Antimo, facing Monte Amiata, on volcanic, quartz-rich soils. Sangiovese is fermented in steel and aged in large Slavonian oak casks; the first Brunello was made in 1983.
