Matías Riccitelli
Riccitelli & Father 2022
Made jointly by Matías and his father Jorge Riccitelli, pairing old-vine Malbec with mountain-grown Cabernet Franc. A small share of whole clusters ferments with native yeasts and gentle hand punch-downs for a slow extraction, followed by more than a year in large oak foudres. James Suckling's notes (2020) point to dark cherry, blackberry, graphite, herbs and pepper on a full, chewy frame.

About the producer
Matías Riccitelli
Matías Riccitelli, born in Cafayate (Salta) and son of veteran winemaker Jorge Riccitelli, worked harvests around the world and served as head winemaker at Fabre Montmayou and Norton before founding his own winery in 2009. The bodega is in Las Compuertas, the highest part of Luján de Cuyo, with old ungrafted Malbec there plus mountain vineyards in Gualtallary, Los Chacayes and San Pablo in the Uco Valley, and a Río Negro project in Patagonia since 2015. Fruit is hand-picked, farmed without herbicides, and fermented with native yeasts.
