Domaine Grand Veneur
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 'Le Miocène' 2023
Organically farmed plots in the northern part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on Miocene marine molasse under Alpine alluvium and the classic rounded galets. Hand-sorted, destemmed and given an 18-20 day maceration before ageing in tank and oak, it is dark ruby, with blackberry, cherry and spice box, plentiful but refined tannins and a long finish.

About the producer
Domaine Grand Veneur
Domaine Grand Veneur is the Jaume family's flagship estate, founded in 1979 by Alain and Odile Jaume in the northern sector of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with cellars just outside Orange. The family has grown grapes here since 1826, and the vineyards are farmed organically: shallow ploughing, plant composts, hand leaf-thinning and bunch-by-bunch sorting.
